Types: TOM 600, TF600-premium

All TESTRÖ mixing units for drum mounting work with the Injector-Venturi-Principle, according to which the water flow pressure cause a vacuum. Because of this, the set amount of the aqueous cooland is sucked in and, in the water jet pump, mixed into a solid and homogeneous emulsion.

The new generation TESTRÖ devices for drum mounting provide a flexibility in the equipment that is often desired by the user and not known to those devices customary in trade. Our customers, who are enabled to choose the option that best serves their purposes, have held in high esteem their individual choice for decades.

TF600-premium
Furthermore, the well proven TESTRÖ mixing unit for drum mounting (so far named TM K2-h-500 for drum mounting) continues to be available under the new name TF600-premium. This device has a special ball valve as well as a scale with over a hundred units that makes the same convenient adjustment possible as with high performance devices. Thus, the TF600-premium is a good choice for places where the concentration has to be changed frequently, e.g. when different machines with different emulsion concentrations are supplied by the same device.

TESTRÖ-MIX high-powered metering and mixing units and systems represent maximum technical progress regarding the production of emulsions and solutions with aqueous coolants. Our product range comprises two- and three-component mixing units, which function manually (h) or automatically. All standard production models can be vertically mounted. Whereas with the mixing sets for two components you can mix so-called master emulsions/solutions for cooling and lubrication, with the three-component mixing units it is possible to add extra additives (K3) (in the form of solvents) to the prepared basic liquid if required.
These extra additives are used in order to conserve and disinfect the emulsions and to avoid corrosion. The following combinations can be driven by these mixing sets: K1 + K2, K1 + K2 + K3, or only K1 + K3. The latter is particularly suitable for additional conservation with microbicides of those emulsions already in circulation. (extended operating life!) The qualitatively high value and the excellent economic efficiency of the TESTRÖ devices derive predominantly from their construction and their mode of operation (Injector-Venturi-Principle), according to which the water pressure also functions as the driving force. The addition of the additive (K3) to the master emulsion (K1 + K2) ensues via a special proportioning device. The mixture (K1 + K2 and, potentially, K3) leaves the mixing unit as a completely homogeneous emulsion. Due to the operation principle and the construction an optimal performance and functioning of the mixing units are achieved, at a very low wear-out rate of parts. Besides they are easy to operate.

TESTRÖ-MIX-High-powered metering and mixing units and systems have the following features:

  • The cooling lubricant, no matter what basis the concentrate, emulsifiable with water, is based on (e.g. mineral oil containing basis products, half- or fully synthetic basis products, incl. salt products), leaves the mixing unit completely homogeneous. Any required amount of emulsion or solution is always – freshly mixed – available.
  • A metering device, connected with a selector, permits by means of a refractometer the direct continuous adjustment of the concentration/mixing ratio for K2 and K3. The mixing accuracy is approx. +5% regarding the set value of the aqueous cooling lubricant.
  • The viscosity of the concentrate (K2) can be between 1 and 132° E/1-100 cSt, the viscosity of the additive (K3) between 1 and 12,5° E/1-95 cSt and more. In case of considerable fluctuation of temperature we recommend our geared pump devices.
  • The adjustment of the required concentrations/mixing ratios for K2 and K3 results from a single hand grip
  • Pressure fluctuations in the water supply, that can range from 2 to 10 bar, are without any effect on the accuracy of the concentration because of the pressure reducer
  • Because of a manometer, all device models indicate in time if the coolant (K2) in the tank runs short or is empty
  • Provided that the wanted master emulsions or solutions (K1+K2) are vaccinated with an additive (K3) for conservation, disinfection or against corrosion, they are not subject to any shock effects because all three components are emulsified together in one mixing process and leave the device as a homogeneous emulsion. For all standard models, it is necessary that the mixed medium can drain freely (without counter pressure).
  • The mixing units considerably support the hygiene and cleanliness in the factory
  • The devices are lockable in order to avoid changes in the setting of the concentration by unauthorized persons.

The automatic devices are similar in design to the manual types. The mixing process is interrupted if there is a lack of concentrate (K2 and K3) or if the catchment tank is full.
For further information on the technical data of our mixing devices see the compilation below.

Besides the standard models we also produce automatically functioning centralised mixing and supplying units for two or three components, that are particularly suitable for the preparation of larger amounts of emulsion (e.g. for closed circulation systems or fountain systems), synchronised to the company’s circumstances and demands, with mixing outputs from 1500 to 10000 lit. per hr and more.

Our program also includes mobile mixing stations, equipped with a selectable TESTRÖ-mixing set.
The exact adjustment of the required concentration and the ideal homogeneity of the mixture (guaranteed because of the operating principle) also follow for:

  • a considerable sparing of the coolants
  • a multiple extension of the service life and the coolants
  • saving of working hours while producing coolants

These and the already above mentioned advantages and services result in an optimum economic efficiency, apart from the quality increase of the workpieces. Please ask for further information. Gear pump mixing units (ZPM K2 -au- 1500/3000)

With TESTRÖ gear pump mixing units (ZPM devices) the emulsion concentrate is delivered by a speed controlled gear pump. The flow of the two components water and concentrate through a water-operated vacuum pump guarantee a homogeneous solution. The adjustment of the concentration is steered by a speed control and indicated digitally, that guarantees a very simple handling. Furhtermore, the devices are equipped with a shortage probe for the concentrate container and an overflow safety probe for the filling container. Additionally, for simpler handling, ZPM devices offer the following advantages over other mixing units which work after the Injector Venturi Principle:

Advantages of TESTRÖ gear pump mixing units

  • even with an operating water pressure under 2 bar a high oil dosage is possible.
  • likewise high-viscosity concentrates can be mixed at a high percentage.
  • in addition, ZPM devices are used in mixing and supplying stations for which frequent concentration changes are necessary. An intermediate tank is not necessary so that after a few litres of piping residues the emulsion in the required new concentration can be already tapped by the consumer.
